Nightingale Primary achieve sporting glory!

Nightingale Primary School achieved ultimate sporting glory today, as they competed in an intense tag-rugby tournament final, that saw them defeat several local schools as well as fellow Maritime school: Timbercroft!

Organised and ran by Nightingale staff, three Maritime schools competed alongside local schools in what became an intense showdown of ultimate sport skill.

This was the first tag rugby tournament that many of the children had ever competed in, but nonetheless all the children showed great technique. Throughout the early stages of the tournament it was clear Nightingale and Timbercroft were the two teams to watch out for and it was fitting they met in the final. Brooklands fell away in the quarter final stages.

The star player of the tournament was undoubtedly Alfie from Nightingale, whose extremely quick feet and wonderful step left defenders chasing his shadow. In the end, the tournament had the final it deserved with a close game coming down to a late winning try. Overall, it was a great tournament and a brilliant introduction to competitive rugby for many of our Maritime children.
