MAT Football League: Brooklands v Millennium

Brooklands travelled to Millennium for Millennium's debut appearance in the MAT football league! Brooklands coming off a defeat to Nightingale in the season opener were looking to bounce back. Millennium fielded two sides a year 5 and year 6 side.

Match 1: Brooklands v Millennium Year 6

Millennium were missing a few key players as Brooklands started the stronger. The scoring was opened from a sublime piece of individual brilliance as Charlie from Brooklands bent a free kick over the wall and into the top corner, after earning the free kick himself when dribbling his way through 3 players. Charlie again capitalized on a Brooklands break away and soon Nola put Brooklands 3 nil up. Max in goal for Millennium pulled off some unbelievable saves earning himself the man of the match. Millennium will certainly be looking for a rematch with their full strength squad but even so it was great to get them involved in the MAT league.

Match 2: Brooklands v Millennium Year 5

The second game was a far tighter affair. Year 5 playing against children mostly older than them showed no fear and attacked from the off. Again man of the match came from Millennium with Toki showing skill, talent and composure throughout. Brooklands took the lead just before half time with Theo tucking away a chance that fell to him in the box. Toki dragged his team back into the game demonstrating a quite brilliant first touch, dancing through the Brooklands back line before riffling one in to the back of the net. Both teams had chances to score but a draw was certainly a fair result.

Well done all!
